5 Things You Shouldn't Spend Your Money On (Starting Now)

5 Things You Shouldn't Spend Your Money On (Starting Now) - FRANC

It's the time of year to make some changes, everywhere you turn there is something or someone telling you to do something/not to do something else. It can get to be too much but hold that thought just for a second cause when it comes to spending money, even better saving it there really is no bad time to set a new habit. We all fall into habits and then that's just how those tasks are done, but often there is a small tweak that can be made to make that task even better. So let's just talk real quick here, about 5 things you should stop spending your hard earned money on - quick changes to make/habits to break, like right now.

1. Trends That Don't Suit You

It's totally fine to love a trend and not actually love it on you. Trends and things that are, so hot right now are (in all honesty) often best admired from afar. Often these things fade pretty fast anyways, so your FOMO won't last long - if you have it. Plus also, trends are rarely made to suit everyone so don't fret trying to make something work for you - if it doesn't feel right it's probably just not right for you.

2. Jeans That Don't Fit Like A Glove

Jeans can be a hard nut to crack, often they don't fit that great but you feel they are good enough. Sometimes the brands that probably would fit are just way out of your price range, so you stick with the affordable ones that possibly don't make you feel as good as they should. But let us tell you one thing real quick, a pair of jeans that fits your body like a glove has this unique ability to lift your mode 50% plus add about 20% more self-confidence into your life. Also, you'll get so much more wear out of 1 pair of really great well-fitting jeans, than you do from 5 low end totally mediocre ones.

3. Shoes That Hurt

Looking good shouldn't hurt, you should never have to suffer for fashion. Generally, the shoes that hurt the most, also happen to be the ones we spend the least on - go figure right? You know, the ones made to look good for a short period of time - often the extra care just wasn't put into making them fit well and comfortable to a foot. Your best bet is to invest in shoes that have longevity past trends and are made with quality, longevity, style and comfort in mind.

4. Clothes That Are Made In Poor Quality Fabrics

Just say no to fast fashion. Stick with versatile styles that are made of a quality natural focused fabric content (hint: FRANC). It's also important to note that poor quality fabric has a way of looking cheap and probably doesn't portray the look you were going for anyways. Plus doesn't it just suck when clothes come out of the wash and they are all misshapen or just falling?

5. Clothes That Are Hard To Care For

Sure sometimes extra care is unavoidable, like a vintage wool sweater or a quality winter coat. Extra care should come pretty rare (unless you work in a strict dress code office). It's a pretty safe call to say if it's harder to care for, you won't wear it that often - or you might "accidentally" wash it wrong and just ruin it, probably rushing to get it clean so you can wear it more often. Shoot for wash cold hang to dry for clothes, the dryer is great but has this knack for breaking down fibers and shrinking even the pre-shrunk fibers.

Is there anything you are cutting out of your spending this year? Anything else you decided to just say, nope no more too this year?

I’m on the hunt for my fits-like-a-glove jeans; what are some of your favourite brands?
