Last year we updated our mailers from the classic polybag to fully recycled and recyclable mailers. Which was great and is still excellent, but when better possibilities arise that allow us to do better, we jump on them. Especially when it comes to sending you less waste and doing as much as we possibly can to contribute to being kinder to our planet.
We are excited to let you know that starting now, your online orders will be shipped out in 100% compostable mailers (unless they don't fit in a mailer, then you get a recyclable corrugated box, also pretty cool 😉 ).
We initially were striving towards a goal of purchasing cute branded custom recycled and recyclable mailers. Then we thought about it, branded mailers are fantastic, but that cuteness lasts you about two seconds, and then you're basically left with cute waste. Mailers that decompose and go back into the earth are waaay better. Our new mailers:
📨Are reusable. There is a double strip of sticky tape, one we use when we ship to you, and another that you can use if you want to reuse this mailer to send to someone else (or you know if a return is required).
🌎They are biodegradable, all you need to do is tear off the shipping label (we haven't found a biodegradable option for that yet) and then place the bag in your compost bin.
💪🏼They are pretty difficult to tear; mostly, they won’t easily rip open during transit. They are waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about incremental weather getting through and ruining your order.
♻️ In order to dispose of these new bags you do need to remove the shipping label. Then put them in your personal compost bin, they will then breakdown in 180 days. If that is not possible maybe a neighbourhood or commercial compost bin which will break down in 90 days. The bags are certified by all three industry certifiers; TUV Austria, BPI and Dincerto, meeting American, European, International and Australian standards – including certifications for your domestic home compost.
We aren’t perfect, but we are forever striving for perfection – in areas possible.

Hi Sierra! The bags are certified by all three industry certifiers; TUV Austria, BPI and Dincerto, meeting American, European, International and Australian standards – including certifications for your domestic home compost.
Hello Franc! What is the compost certification on these bags? Are they ASTM D6400 certified? BPI certified? Other?
Thanks!
Sierra
Hey there! I was wondering if you could help give me more information on your packaging. Specifically who makes it!
Thank you, Elle
