The #1 White T-Shirt Killer
What's better than a brand new white t-shirt? Okay, in all honesty, many things, but a brand-new-perfect-plain-white-tee is pretty fantastic, even if it's not the best thing in life. White t-shirts are great (we already confirmed this), but they'd be even better if they actually stayed WHITE, right!? The most common white t-shirt issue we have found is, "keeping it that crisp white colour". There are a few things you can do to keep your fave tee crisp white, for longer when it comes to your laundry. But before we go there can we quickly talk about the #1 t-shirt killer? It's your deodorant.
You know when your tee gets slightly discoloured under the armpits, either to a shade of cream or yellow or just a sorta slightly greasy tone of grey? Yes that, annoying and possibly embarrassing. But hey, it's not you, it's your deodorant. Your sweat does not do that all on its own. Classic deodorants with perfume and aluminium are the primary culprit, mixed with your clear sweat they ruin more t-shirts than a spaghetti night. We have a super easy fix for the pits of your fave white tee's, simply toss your deodorant and switch to an all-natural variety.
It's not as 🙅♀️as it sounds, natural deodorants are better for you, the environment and your clothes. Yes, they do take a bit of trial and error to find one that works for you, most likely your body will need to adjust to the lack of aluminium and antiperspirants before they start to work. Basically, your pits will need to detox from that traditional deodorant that it's used too, before you will notice if any natural deodorant actually works. So try some out, and give them good patient time. Here is a quick round up of some of our all-time faves, that are good for you and your fave white tee.
Routine - Farmacy - Mega Babe - Nala - Leaves of Trees - Aesop - Corpus - Meow Meow Tweet - Blume - Lastly our all-time fave is a good old Deodorant Crystal (you need to be well detoxed for this to work)
Real quick when it comes to washing, a few things to help those crisp whites, stay crisp and white for longer:
- Wash your whites separate, always.
- Baking soda, white vinegar, borax, lemon juice and hydrogen peroxide all naturally whiten. Add a mixture of 1-2 of these in 1/2 cup measurements with each load of whites.
- Attack a stain right away.
- Wash whites more often, it's unpopular, but whites need it if they are gonna have any chance.
- Keep your washing machine clean with baking soda and white vinegar, the detergent build-up is the number 1 cause of turning whites grey before their time.
Do you have any trade keep those whites, white secrets? Or a favourite all natural deodorant?
